The rubies are set in triangular panels framed by rope-twist and fringed borders, alternating with suspended seed pearls nestled within matching rope-twist surrounds. Coiled gold wire links allow the decorative elements to move freely along the herringbone gold chain. Crafted in rich yellow gold, this necklace is an elegant example of mid-19th-century design.
