A super lovely pair of Victorian paste earrings. The striking yellow/orange colour looks almost like a sun and catches the light so wonderfully which paste was most know for. Georgian and Victorian women would often choose paste over their diamonds because of the way paste would sparkle even under candlelight.
The glass is cut as a high crown with old oval-cut paste and has that unique hand made appearance. Looks very similar to citrine or a yellow sapphire. The back is fully closed and domed in real silver with 9ct gold ear wire placed to the top of the closed back. These are neatly made and effortlessly striking.
They look so pretty worn as they are, or even as part of an earring stack.
Night or day these are a fab pair of antique earrings!
