Berlin Iron “Faith, Love, and Loyalty” Signet Ring
Rare historical piece, dating to the early nineteenth century when the Prussian people donated their gold and silver jewelry to the State to help fund the war against Napoleon, c. 1813-15. In return, they were given pieces made with sand-cast iron, as a symbol of their patriotism and generosity. It is a substantial piece.
This signet has what I believe to be symbols representing faith (the dove), love (the heart), and loyalty (the dog), with a lovely floral motif on the band.
